Obesity is one of the leading causes of elevated cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality and morbidity. Several indicators of abdominal obesity such as body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC) are available. BMI and WC have limitations in stratifying cardio-metabolic risks.
